What Is Watch D.O.G.S.? Watch D.O.G.S. is the father involvement initiative of the National Center For Fathering. Inspired by one father's desire to increase male involvement in his children's school and with the help of the school teachers and administration.
What are some of the duties? You can stay all day or half day (Don't have to do everything listed below)
* Always wear Official Uniform T-Shirts while they are on official WatchDOG duty. *ENCOURAGE STUDENTS! (with lots of smiles & high fives, etc.) *Help with traffic flow of vehicles and students at arrival & dismissal times. *Monitor hallways and entrances. *Monitor buildings-inside/outside *Assist at lunch *Eat lunch with the students *Assist at recess, study hall, social times *Play or referee on the playground or in the gym *Actively and positively engage with their student and others *Speak to classes about importance of education and career choices *Be available to mentor male students *Assist coaches and activity sponsors *Help students with test review *Support fine arts classes (I.e. band, choir, orchestra, art, yearbook etc.) with your presence and your experience. *Smile and be a hero for a day!
